Heather Kirby is a musician, producer/engineer/mixer, media artist, and audio instructor. She recently completed her Master of Arts in Communication and New Media at McMaster University where she received multiple funding awards to coordinate "Resampled" - a successful music production workshop event for women and trans folks that took place in the summer of 2013. 

As a producer/engineer/mixer she has worked with Del Bel, Lisa Bozikovic, Gentleman Reg, the Wooden Sky, L Con, Katie Stelmanis (Austra), and as a casual audio operator for CBC News Network. Her sound design work includes Sarindar Dhaliwal's "Olive, Almond, Mustard" (installed at A Space, 2013) and Bambitchell's "Border Sounds" (Nuit Blanche, 2011). She has released 3 LPs and toured North America, Europe, China and Japan in the band Ohbijou, and is a current member of Toronto feminist art-rock cover band Vag Halen who recently performed for Shary Boyle’s Canadian Pavilion opening party at the 2013 Venice Biennale. While at McMaster University she was also a member of the live coding group the "Cybernetic Orchestra", who performed Heather's composition "Delineate" - a live coding music piece with Max MSP/Jitter visual triggers, at the live.code.festival in Karlsruhe. Heather also made her directorial debut in 2013 with the documentary film "Please, Don't Insult Us!" which screened at the OUTShine film festival. As an RTA graduate, Heather is happy to be back as an instructor at the School.
